Amy Fehr


I am anticipating receiving my undergraduate degree in English literature in the spring of 2013 from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. At Millikin, I have received a comprehensive education, including the following areas of English studies:

  • British literature
  • American literature
  • Indian and Anglo-Indian literature
  • Literary theory
  • Critical reading, writing, and research
  • Web publishing
  • Print publishing


At Millikin, I was an honors and JMS student. These academically intense programs gave me the following opportunities:

  • Two semesters of honors level research intense writing classes
      • "The Nightmare of Childhood: Examining Elements of Horror in Tom Sawyer"
  • Four semesters of honors level seminar courses:
      • Introduction to ethics and philosphy
      • Leadership seminar
      • History and philosophy of science
      • Infinity
  • Three semesters of independent research on a chosen topic:
      • "You Can't Take the Sky from Me: Deconstructing Archetypes of the American Froniter in Joss Whedon's Firefly"


With a GPA of 3.966, I am also a member of two honors fraternities:

  • Sigma Tau Delta
